Patrick Herrmann has admitted he doesn't know if he will be staying at Borussia Mönchengladbach beyond the summer of 2022, at which point his current contract expires.

"I have to wait and see. It's hard to say at the moment," Herrmann said in an interview with Gladbach fan site Fohlen-Hautnah, in which he reveals that he is yet to discuss his future with the club's sporting director, Max Eberl.

Gladbach confirmed last month that Marco Rose will leave his position as coach to join Borussia Dortmund and are yet to announce his successor.

The new coach's plans will, of course, influence Herrmann's future, but in any case the 30-year-old winger can't see himself leaving Borussia-Park, having spent his entire career at Gladbach so far.

"Of course, it also depends on how things will go for me under the new coach. But after such a long time, I don't really want to leave," admitted Herrmann.

Herrmann has been limited to just 21 minutes of football in Gladbach's last six Bundesliga games.
