Spanish legend Raul voices support for 2.Bundesliga-bound Schalke

The former striker provided some words of comfort for the relegated side.

Schalke were unsurprisingly relegated to the 2.Bundesliga after a 1-0 defeat at 14th placed Arminia Bielefeld.

The Gelsenkirchen club have endured one of their worst seasons in history – losing 21 out of a total of 30 Bundesliga games so far, winning just twice all season in the top tier.

Now, ex-forward and Spanish legend Raul, who played for Die Knappen between 2010 and 2012, voiced his support for the fallen giants through his Instagram feed.

He wrote “We love you. Blue and white for life” – posted along with a photo of himself and former teammates.



Raul played 98 times for Schalke at the turn of the last decade. scoring 40 goals and making 21 assists – a remarkable record for a veteran his age.
