Flick fawns over German FA in post-match interview: "I have an absolute deep trust in Oliver Bierhoff."
After wrapping up the title on Saturday evening, Hansi Flick essentially confirmed that he anticipated being appointed the country's next national team head-coach.
A visibly more relaxed Flick divulged a rough time-line for how events will now unfold for the man most expect to be the new Bundestrainer.

"I wish it for the DFB. Hansi would be a perfect fit for the DFB," Rummenigge told Sky Germany after the match, "One can only strongly recommend that they conclude this personnel matter quickly. Hansi is a coach in great demand due to his success. At the end of the day, there would be much drama if he went somewhere else in Europe and not to the DFB."
Flick has been tenuously linked with other European clubs. Few lend such rumors credence as it would make no sense for the 56-year-old to leave the greatest job in German club football for anything other than the national team. Flick made practically no secret of his aspirations when discussing the German FA.
"I had a lot of fun back then with Jogi and Andy Köpke," Flick said of his 11 years as a national team assistant coach, "There was enormous appreciation and great loyalty among each other. Those are the values that drive me. Those are the values that I need, and they're there. Without question, I have an absolute deep trust in Oliver Bierhoff."
Flick should be named the country's next Bundestrainer at some point. Even if there's nothing to announce yet, Flick basically revealed that he expected everything would fall into place.
"There's no pressure and I can peacefully go on vacation after May 22nd," Flick told Sky Germany, "Everything else should then unfold as it should."
The outgoing FCB trainer couldn't help but drop another hint about his future destination after naming his holiday start date.
"To coach a team or an association with which one stands a great chance of winning a title is always worthy of consideration," he concluded.
