Germany general manager Oliver Bierhoff has provided an injury update on Leon Goretzka ahead of Tuesday's Euro 2020 opener against France.

"He is able to train with the team, but he won't be an option for the first game," said Bierhoff about the Bayern midfielder, who has been struggling with muscle problems.

"Leon is an incredibly important player and I'm sure that he will end up playing an integral role for us."

The central midfielder has made 31 appearances for Germany, scoring 13 times.
