Official: Leipzig re-sign and ship out former German youth star on long-term loan
RB Leipzig have confirmed that oft-injured former German youth international Fabrice Hartmann will get a chance to rebuild his career via an extended loan-spell in Eastern Westphalia.
Some 15 months after a nasty ACL-tear that threatened to end his career, one-time German youth star Fabrice Hartmann has a new contract and a new team. Germany's rotn Bullen confirmed on Wednesday that the 20-year-old resigned and will be moved to SC Paderborn 07 on a two-year-long loan.
Hartmann already has eight international tallies to his credit at various German youth squad levels. He made on appearance with Leipzig's senior side during a July 2018 UEFA Europa League Qualifier.
"Fabrice has done well developmentally," Paderborn head-of-sport Fabian Wohlgemuth said on the club's website, "but he's been out for a long period with injury. Now he's fit again and, in cooperation with RB Leipzig, wishes to make a fresh start in a new locale in order to further his chances for higher-level tasks. With his pace and technical qualities, he fits very well in our squad."
The new contract with Leipzig runs through 2025.
