Schalke boss hits out at midfielder: 'Everything is bad when he doesn't play'
Schalke boss Christian Heidel is not happy about Nabil Bentaleb's attitude.
Since Nabil Bentaleb returned from an injury in January, the central midfielder has only started once for the Gelsenkirchen side.
According to Schalke's sporting director Christian Heidel, Bentaleb isn't exactly hiding that that he's unhappy about his current playing time - but that's not making it easier for him, Heidel says.
"Everything is bad when he doesn't play. We could win 5-0, and if Nabil only played one half, he'll act like we lost 0-5. We win the quarter-final in the cup, and he acts like we lost 0-4. Then of course everyone in the team thinks Nabil puts himself over the team," Heidel told Bild.
"When he has the feeling that he won't play in the weekend, he doesn't give everything in training. That is unacceptable," he added.
Bentaleb, 23, joined Schalke on loan in the beginning of last season and was signed permanently by the club for €19 million in February last year.
