Sky Report: Frankfurt seal Koulierakis capture, SGE also eye Chabot

Sky Germany reports that Eintracht Frankfurt have reached an agreement with PAOK FC for the purchase of central defender Konstantinos Koulierakis.

There are also whispers that the RheinMain Adler are interested in acquiring 1. FC Köln center back Julian Chabot.

Ahead of the expected departures of center backs Hrvoje Smolcic and Willian Pacho, Eintracht Frankfurt have reportedly secured their first new summer addition to the central defensive corps. Sky Germany reports the the SGE have reached an agreement with Greek side PAOK FC to complete the purchase of 20-year-old center-half Konstantinos Koulierakis. The German broadcaster claims that the two clubs have ironed out a compromise somewhere between PAOK's €13 million asking price and the SGE's €7 million initial bid.

Sky and Germany's min sporting tabloid report that Eintracht's continued search for help in central defense leads to, what is for now, a fellow top tier side. Rumors linking FC Köln's Julian Chabot with Borussia Dortmund have been mostly refuted for now. It nevertheless appears to be the case that Eintracht maintain interest in securing the services of the 26-year-old via the player's presumed €5 million exit clause. Frankfurt are also being linked with current FSV Mainz 05 midfielder Nadiem Amiri.

Koulierakis - a five-times-capped senior Greek international - maintains a current estimated market worth of €6 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. The youngster's tendency to move forward and get his name on the scoresheet (four goals and two assists in 32 appearances for PAOK this season) draws parallels between his game and that of former VfB Stuttgart center back Konstantinos Mavropanos. Koulierakis has performed especially well for his Greek club in the Europa Conference League thus far this season.
