“It was a ton of fun" – those were the words of Nico Schlotterbeck speaking to Sky Germany after Borussia Dortmund's gritty 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
"We allowed a few chances in the first half, and then none whatsoever in the second half. We’ve now kept five clean sheets in seven games.
"If we had held on for two more minutes against Bremen, we'd be talking about six out of seven. That’s really good.
"The four of us in the back work really well together. We dominated the second half and earned the win through compact defending.
“Maxi [Beier] put his quality on display. That shot into the far corner is his specialty. We're not perfect yet, but we're making progress,” he said.
Referencing the match-winning goal-scorer on the night, Maxi Beier told the pay-TV channel that he had been working on his finishing.
“I practice those shots a lot in training. Of course, I’m happy that it went in. Believing [our ability to score late] is the most important thing.
“If you don’t believe in it, you've already failed. It’s been a demanding few weeks so far, but we all love the game and being out on the field,” he summed up.
