Bayern Munich have identified Dani Olmo as an alternative to Xavi Simons, according to Bild.
The German tabloid reports that the Bavarians are in contact with the Spaniard's entourage about a possible summer move.
If their bid to sign Simons, who spent last season on loan at Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain, fails, Bayern could turn their attention to Olmo instead.
Olmo has a release clause of €60 million that expires on June 20. However, the report claims that Leipzig would be willing to sell him for a fee in that region even after that date.
Bayern's board member for sport, Max Eberl, previously held a similar role at RB Leipzig and therefore knows Olmo well.
The Bavarians are also chasing Stade Rennes youngster Desiré Doue after reportedly remaining keen on the Frenchman after seeing an initial €35 million bid rejected.
Olmo, 26. joined Leipzig from Dinamo Zagreb for a reported €29 million in January 2020.
