Daniel Svensson made his first start for Borussia Dortmund since joining on loan from FC Nordsjælland in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Sporting CP.
BVB coach Niko Kovac was impressed with what he saw from the 22-year-old and singled him out for special praise at the post-match press conference.
"He had no minutes in his legs and still had a really good game," Kovac said.
"Daniel was very good on the flank. When we had the ball, he kept moving into midfield.
"He had a long winter break. For him to put in a performance like that is fantastic.
“It shows that we've done a really good job in scouting and that we've discovered something again.”
Whether Svensson is handed another start against Bochum in the Bundesliga on Saturday may depend on the availability of Ramy Bensebaini, who missed the Sporting game with a muscle problem.
