Five players in danger of being omitted from Germany's Euro squad

Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann will have to cut one player from his Euro 2024 squad ahead of the tournament, with five players reportedly fighting for their places.

When Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann announced his preliminary squad for Euro 2024, he named 27 players, meaning he will have to leave one out of his final team for the tournament on home soil.

The reason is that the final squad, which must be submitted to UEFA by midnight on June 7, cannot include more than 26 players.

According to Sky Germany, five players are fighting to stay in the squad: Robin Koch, Maximilian Beier, David Raum, Chris Führich and Aleksandar Pavlovic, with the German media outlet claiming that all other players are certain to be included, including all four goalkeepers.

U21 internationals Brajan Gruda and Rocco Reitz, who were given the opportunity to train with the seniors in order to strengthen the preliminary squad, will not be included in the final squad.

The German Football Association announced on Wednesday that Gruda has already returned home after suffering a muscle injury.
