FC Augsburg appear to have revenge on their mind this weekend against Holstein Kiel, as head coach Jess Thorup stated they haven't forgot the 5-1 thrashing they got back in late December.

“We're still thinking about the first leg against Holstein Kiel. On Sunday, we have to build on our good second-half performance and put on a good performance for our fans,” he explained.

Thorup proceeded to discuss which players are available and those who won't be fit in time for the game at the WWKArena on Sunday.

"[Mergim] Berisha, [Mahmut] Kücüksahin, and [Noah-Kai] Banks are unfortunately unavailable this week due to injuries. Arne Maier, however, is back after his suspension.

“There are several options for our starting eleven on Sunday: [Mert] Kömür, [Arne] Maier, and [Fredrik] Jensen are all possible candidates. Arne trained very well this week, but Mert is also definitely ready for the starting eleven,” he added.

Regarding questions on next season's squad, Thorup underlined that his attention is on the remainder of the current Bundesliga campaign.

“My focus is on Augsburg against Kiel and finishing the season as well as possible. But of course, I hope we can keep the team together for the most part,” Thorup said.
