Frimpong tight-lipped on future amid exit talks

Jeremie Frimpong has refused to comment on reports linking him with a move away from Bayer Leverkusen, but isn't afraid to make it clear that he's happy at the club.

According to a recent Sport Bild report, Jeremie Frimpong is leaning towards leaving Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season.

Speaking to Kicker TV, the Dutchman wouldn't comment on his future, but did make it clear that he is enjoying playing for Leverkusen, who have finals in the Europa League and DFB-Pokal coming up.

“I'm concentrating on the here and now, we have three very big games ahead of us. That's all I'm focusing on,” Frimpong said.

“As a footballer, at least for me personally, it's always about winning trophies. To be in two finals is a dream come true. I want to win as many trophies as possible. To be in two finals, to have already won the Bundesliga, that's an incredible feeling. If we win three titles and remain unbeaten, that would be great.

“The team I play in is great. I can really show off my skills in this team. The passes I get, the protection I get and also the coach I have: It's a blessing to be playing for this team at this moment,” Frimpong stated.

The Dutchman is under contract until 2028 and has a release clause of a reported €40-45 million.
