Report: BMG and Patrick Herrmann in agreement over contract extension

Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that Gladbach are close to renewing with veteran midfielder/winger Patrick Herrmann. 
Herrmann, who came up through the club's youth system, has featured for the foals' senior side for 13 consecutive seasons dating back to the 2009/10 campaign. Asked about his current contract, which expires at the end of the season, Herrmann admitted last March that he was unsure about remaining with the club.

In statements since, the man who has now donned the BMG tricot 370 times in competitive fixtures has jokingly6 expressed his desire to play for Gladbach "until the age of 65 if possible." Herrmann has also remained relaxed about ongoing negotiations.

"Over the past 13 years, I've developed a very special bond with this club," he said recently, "Everyone knows how attached I am to this fantastic club. There's still some time before summer, so I'll let things come naturally."

Herrmann, referred to as "Flaco" by friends and colleagues, has scored a total of 55 goals and chipped in 63 assists for Gladbach. He turned in a marvelous performance off the bench against Arminia Bielefeld in round four. His two assists helped the team to their first win of then season.
