After a syndesmosis injury sidelined him for a chunk of the season, a disheartened Niklas Süle has revealed he received psychological support.

"I sought help. I found someone who suggested a different approach and gave me a different perspective on certain things.

"I was lucky to have the mindset to understand: Hey, start with yourself! I think I'm a very insightful person and have a good sense of when I do something wrong.

“I'm very grateful that I got help and continue to work on myself, especially in the personal area, and I've been feeling better ever since,” he added.

The 29-year-old has been a mainstay in BVB's backline since Nico Schlotterbeck's injury, and is delighted to contribute on a regular basis.

“It's up to you what you make of this opportunity. I'm very happy that things are going well right now and that I can do my part to help us win the games,” Süle noted.
