Report: Bürki loan deal falls through
Swiss newspaper "Blick" is now reporting that negotiations between Borussia Dortmund and Turkish club Galatasary for a loan-out of Roman Bürki have collapsed.
Despite reports emerging earlier in the day that a loan-out of BVB back-up keeper Roman Bürki to Galatasaray Istanbul were in the final stages, Andreas Böni of Swiss daily "Blick" says that the deal actually fell through. Writing on twitter, Böni claims that the Turkish Süper Lig club and player felt that that Fernando Muslera's projected recovery time left the arrangement less than sensible.
Bürki, the #1 between the sticks for Germany's second wealthiest club as late as last season, remains highly unlikely to make another appearance for the Schwarzgelben. The 31-year-old has actually even fallen behind both Marwin Hitz and offseason acquisition Gregor Kobel to the #3 slot on the depth chart.
