Schöpf: Schalke can beat Dortmund
Alessandro Schöpf says he has respect for Borussia Dortmund, but believes Schalke can beat their rivals on Saturday.
Schalke 04's Alessandro Schöpf is confident 'The Royal Blues' can beat local rivals Borussia Dortmund in the Revierderby on Saturday.
The 24-year-old has huge respect for Dortmund's impressive performances this season, but believes Schalke can take a win at Veltins-Arena through hard work and fight.
"Dortmund are currently a world-class team and are rightly the league leaders," Schöpf told WAZ and added:
"It's important for us to be defensively compact and look for our chances going forward. We want find our feet with fight and the right mentality and then play football as well."
"If we perform, we can beat Dortmund in front of our home crowd."
Borussia Dortmund are top of the Bundesliga with 33 points while Schalke are sitting 12th with 14 points.
