Bayern Munich are hoping to reach an agreement with Ralf Rangnick this week, with the Austria coach seen as the clear favorite to replace Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season, Sky Germany reports.

The report claims that a contract until 2027 is on the table and that an agreement with the Austrian Football Federation will not be an obstacle if Rangnick agrees to make the move. A transfer fee in the mid single-digit million euro range would then be due.

However, there are still details to be ironed out, and discussions are expected to continue following Bayern's Champions League semifinal first leg match against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

Since the announcement in February that Thomas Tuchel will be stepping down from his position at the end of the season, Bayern has been actively searching for a new coach. Rangnick has emerged as the leading candidate, with Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann no longer in the running.
