Since his loan move from Chelsea in January, Ian Maatsen has made a significant impact at Borussia Dortmund

The Black and Yellows would like to keep the Dutch left-back, but it's currently unclear what will happen beyond the summer.

"I don't yet know what will happen in the summer. There will certainly be several options. What I can say is that I feel very comfortable in Dortmund and really enjoy being at BVB," Maatsen told Ruhr Nachrichten.

The 22-year-old felt welcome from the first minute.

"As soon as I had my first training session with the boys, I felt this special connection. Everyone gave me a very warm welcome and I immediately had a good connection with the staff."

Reports suggest Dortmund holds an option to secure Maatsen permanently for 40 million. Nevertheless, given financial constraints, the Bundesliga outfit will most likely try to push the price down.
