Marlon Irlbacher of Sky Germany reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach are presently trying to haggle Benfica Lisbon down from a €15 million purchase price for German midfielder Julian Weigl.
BMG sporting director Roland Virkus, meanwhile, publicly confirmed that Jordan Beyer's purchase clause with loan club Burney F.C. is precisely €15 million.

Gladbach's current financial problems were well publicized during the club's annual general stakeholders meeting taking place over the last few days. While it hasn't exactly been a secret that the Westphalians have been preparing for much leaner years for some time, managing director Stephan Schippers publicly admitted another sizable loss (€24.7 million) for the latest fiscal year.
Schippers cited the club's recent failed transfer model as one of the reasons that the club has hemorrhaged out nearly €60 million in the last three years, which were obviously also marred by the pandemic. The club has held onto players that could have netted them sizable transfer gains in the hopes that they could compete sportingly. The gamble, Schippers conceded, has failed.
BMG sporting director Roland Virkus also spoke at the meeting and participated in press rounds afterwards. Virkus confirmed reports that EFL Championship side Burney F.C. have a €15 million purchase clause for on-loan Germany U21 international Jordan Beyer. The club personnel executive made no secret of the fact that he was hopeful that Gladbach could net some revenue from Beyer for the summer rebuild.
