Wolfsburg injuries starting to clear up ahead of Leipzig clash

VfL Wolfsburg have been severely impacted by injuries in recent weeks, with eight players unavailable for last week's 1-0 defeat against Union Berlin.
Although most of those players remain out for the upcoming fixture against RB Leipzig on Friday, things are going in the right direction on the injury front, head coach Ralph Hasenhüttl revealed on Thursday.
Notably, either Denis Vavro or Konstantinos Koulierakis could return to the starting lineup for Friday’s match.
"There is good news regarding Denis Vavro and Konstantinos Koulierakis. It’s possible that at least one of them will be fit in time for the game," Hasenhüttl revealed.
"Mattias Svanberg is still unable to train with the team. Lovro Majer and Bartosz Białek have now returned to training and will hopefully be fully integrated next week," he added.
Unfortunately for Die Wölfe, Sebastiaan Bornauw could miss the rest of the season due to a metatarsal issue.
"Sebastiaan Bornauw has a problem with his metatarsal and will likely be out for at least three to four weeks," Hasenhüttl explained. "I don't know if it will make sense to rush him back afterwards."
On a more positive note, Mads Roerslev, who has been struggling with an Achilles tendon injury, is now fully recovered, as the player himself told Bulinews.com in an exclusive interview earlier this week.
“Mads Roerslev no longer has any pain in his heel and has been training with the team again this week,” confirmed Hasenhüttl.
While it’s unclear if Roerslev will be in the starting eleven this time around, the Denmark international told Bulinews that he feels prepared to start and hopes to get as much playing time as possible before his loan from Brentford ends this summer.
“My foot feels a lot better now. So I feel I have a better foundation to show what I can do. And then, of course, it's up to the coach to give me playing time. When I get the chance, whether from the start or coming off the bench, I have to do well,” Roerslev told Bulinews.com.
