Borussia Dortmund are sweating over the fitness of captain Emre Can and Niko Süle ahead of their trip to Freiburg this weekend.

“Niklas Süle and Emre Can haven't trained yet, so we'll have to see,” revealed BVB head coach Niko Kovac at his pre-match press conference.

Kovac had some positive news to share too: Star striker Serhou Guirassy, who missed last week's 3-1 win over Mainz, is expected to make his return.

“Serhou is on the road to recovery. We assume that he will be available again at the weekend,” said the BVB coach.

Kovac also revealed that Felix Nmecha will “hopefully” be back in the squad after a lengthy injury break.

Nico Schlotterbeck and Yan Couto are both suspended and will therefore definitely miss the game along with Marcel Sabitzer (knee).
