Borussia Dortmund have struggled away from home all season, but they put that aside in a dominant 4-1 win in Freiburg. Karim Adeyemi’s well-taken strike put BVB in front at the break before they stepped up their game after the break.

“We won the game today. Everyone is involved with each other, and they were willing to make the extra effort. We can only be successful together,” said Niko Kovac after the game. “We’ve to be able to defend well, like we’ve seen today.”

Kovac quickly shifted his attention towards Dortmund’s midweek trip to Barcelona. “Barcelona is a completely different challenge. They’re one of the strongest teams in Europe,” reflected the Croat coach before showing his delight for his goal-scorers.

“I'm pleased that Serhou (Guirassy) scored after his injury, and that Jamie (Gittens) scored again. It’s a well-rounded victory."
