Bynoe-Gittens set for second shoulder surgery
Young English phenom Jamie Bynoe-Gittens of Borussia Dortmund will go under the knife again and will be unavailable to the club for many months.
BVB trainer Edin Terzic confirmed at his Thursday presser that persistent shoulder issues had led club and player to opt for further shoulder surgery in the case of young English attacking talent Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. The 18-year-old made 20 appearances across all competitions for Dortmund this season, scoring three goals and registering two assists in the league.
Since problems with his left shoulder began cropping up in March, Bynoe-Gittens made just two relief appearances off the bench. He did bag an assist in the matchday 28 3-3 draw with VfB Stuttgart. The nature of the surgery not only ends Bynoe-Gittens' 2022/23 campaign, but also places into question whether he'll ultimately be available for the start of next season.
Terzic lamented the fact that the youngster - having already undergone surgery on his right shoulder earlier this year - had the misfortune of having additional problems. After confirming an absence of "several months", the BVB trainer promised that the Bynoe-Gittens would be "supported fully" in his long recovery.
