After an injury ruined his pre-season, Finn Dahmen began the season as Augsburg's second choice goalkeeper behind Nediljko Labrovic.

After the winter break, however, Augsburg coach Jess Thorup decided to make a change at goalkeeper, with Dahmen moving into the starting eleven.

Since then, Augsburg have conceded just three goals in nine Bundesliga games and have kept four consecutive clean sheets following Sunday's 0-0 draw with Freiburg.

At the press conference after Sunday's game, Thorup singled out Dahmen for special praise.

"With Finn, you've seen in recent weeks what confidence means for a goalkeeper, and together with the whole team, we're doing very well against the ball at the moment," said Thorup.

“I'm happy for Finn because it wasn't easy for him last year. He has put in some excellent performances since the winter break.”
