Dennis Aogo will leave VfB Stuttgart when his contract runs out at the end of the month, the club have announced.

"Dennis Aogo showed a professional attitude every day throughout his two years at VfB and gave everything for the club. In light of the new direction that the club is taking, we have decided not to renew his contract," said Stuttgart head of sport Thomas Hitzlsperger, as quoted by the club.

"We would like to thank Dennis for his efforts in red and white, and wish him and his family all the best for the future," he added.

Aogo, 32, joined Stuttgart from Schalke 04 in 2017.

Stuttgart recently also said goodbye to captain Christian Gentner.
