Nico Elvedi: 'I see Bayern as favorites'

Borussia Mönchengladbach sit top of the Bundesliga, four points clear of fourth-placed Bayern München, but Nico Elvedi still believes the German champions are favorites to win Saturday's clash between the two sides at Borussia-Park.

"I see Bayern as favorites. But I believe our team can win," the Gladbach defender said in an interview with WAZ.

Elvedi will be up against Robert Lewandowski, who has scored 16 goals in the league, and the centre-back knows it will be difficult to keep the Polish international quiet.

"It won't be easy. For me, he's one of the best strikers in the league, if not in the world. But that's a challenge we're happy to take on," he said.

The centre-back has made 19 appearances for Gladbach this season, scoring once.
