Davie Selke says he would have made the move to England in January if it hadn't been possible for him to return to Werder Bremen.

The 25-year-old was heavily linked with various Premier League clubs, but ultimately left Hertha for a move to Werder when he found out that returning to his former club was possible.

"It almost felt like I was already in England, because it was said that the move to Bremen would be financially impossible. I say quite clearly: had it been any other Bundesliga club, I would have opted for a move to England. I find the Premier League extremely appealing. But Werder are special for me," Selke told Sport Bild.

Werder Bremen have signed Selke on loan until the summer of 2021 with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met.
