Schalke 04 head of sport Jochen Schneider has confirmed that the club are in talks with Benjamin Stambouli about a new deal.

The 29-year-old's contract expired at the end of June, but it's not out of the question that he could stay at Veltins-Arena.

"We are talking to each other and would like to keep him here," Schneider said at a press conference on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Schalke have said goodbye to loan players Jonjoe Kenny, Juan Miranda, Michael Gregoritsch and Jean-Clair Todibo, who will return to their respective parent clubs.
