Sky Germany claims Hummels conditioned BVB stay on Terzic ouster

Sky Germany's Patrick Berger is currently reporting that Mats Hummels' divorce from Borussia Dortmund has essentially been finalized by an ultimatum that BVB trainer Edin Terzic be let go.

It has long been reported that Mats Hummels' irreconcilable relationship with Borussia Dortmund head-coach Edin Terzic is the primary reason why Mats Hummels will not be signing another one-year-contract extension with his German club. Sky Germany is currently taking this one step further and claiming that Hummels placed an ultimatum on the table, ruling out a potential BVB stay unless Terzic was sacked.

This is reported by Sky Germany's Patrick Berger and was also relayed on Sky's Monday evening "Transfer Update" broadcast. At present, there are no other reputable sources corroborating what amounts to be a sensational (and probably untrue) story. Similar reports that BVB veteran Marco Reus pushed for Terzic's ouster last autumn were eventually refuted by the player. Hummels will ostensibly receive the chance to do the same soon.

In any event, it does certainly appear as if Hummels' departure from the club he's spent a cumulative total of 13-and-a-half years for is certain. German press sources reporting on Hummels' departure are united in their claims that the proverbial "tablecloth" has been cut. Most transfer rumors link the 35-year-old with a move to neighboring Italy. Hummels has ruled out a move within the  Bundesliga.
