Having been limited to just 179 minutes of football in six games since Vincent Kompany took over as Bayern Munich manager, Mathys Tel could be on his way out on loan in January.
That's according to Sky Germany, who reports that Bayern are not ruling out a winter loan move that could see the Frenchman get more playing time.
The likes of Werder Bremen and Borussia Mönchengladbach have been linked with Tel in the past.
Bayern sporting director Christoph Fruend mentioned Tel at a press conference on Tuesday when discussing the roles of the young players in the squad.
“The lads are doing really well. It's not easy as a young player to get minutes at Bayern. It's about momentum. I'm convinced the boys will be ready when they're needed. You need to decide for each individual what's the best next step. There are different ways,” said Freund.
"The squad is really good. The team is playing well. It's not easy to get a lot of minutes. Mathys Tel has got his minutes, has done well. But it's different for everyone and is decided on an individual basis."
Tel joined Bayern from Stade Rennes in 2022 for a reported fee of €20 million. Since then, he has scored 16 goals and provided six assists in 75 appearances.
In March, he signed a new long-term contract until 2029.
