Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso has a full squad at his disposal for Saturday's top-of-the-table clash with Bayern Munich.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, the Spaniard confirmed that all of his players - including Exequiel Palacios, who has worked his way back from injury - are ready to play.
"Yes, all the players are ready. We have no injuries. Today is the last training session and 'Pala' can play from the start," he said.
Despite his young age, Florian Wirtz has been a key player for Bayer Leverkusen for years and seems to have taken another step forward in his impressive development this season.
Asked what has helped the 21-year-old raise his level even further, Xabi Alonso replied:
"'Flo' has the desire to play even better this season, to show that he can still develop. For example, against Wolfsburg, in a situation that was not too easy, he wanted to play, and he was probably the best player on the pitch. He has that desire to show that he can play better.
“So far this season, he has started very well. We need the best ‘Flo’ tomorrow. But I always say: We need to help 'Flo'. He can't do it on his own. We need the whole team to make him shine.”
