Bochum's Miyoshi receives two-match ban

The German FA's disciplinary arm has confirmed a two-match-suspension for VfL Bochum attacker Koji Miyoshi.

Following his straight red card early in Saturday's 1-1 draw with 1. FC Union Berlin, VfL Bochum attacker Koji Miyoshi will be ineligible to play for the Bundesliga's last-placed club over the next two match-days. The Japanese international's ban - confirmed by the German F.A. on Monday - rules him out of the final league fixture of the calendar year (Heidenheim) and the first match of 2025 (Mainz 05).

The high-profile summer signing has thus far scored one league goal in 11 appearances for the Revierklub this year. Miyoshi started his second consecutive league fixture under current VfL trainer Dieter Hecking this season on Saturday. Miyoshi scored perhaps Bochum's most important goal of the season on match-day ten; a late equalizer that helped Bochum stun defending champs Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
