After an inconsistent start to the season, German champions Bayer Leverkusen seem to have found their form, winning their last five games in all competitions.

Most recently, Xabi Alonso's men secured a hard-fought 2-1 home win over St. Pauli to maintain third place in the Bundesliga.

Die Werkself will be hoping to continue their good run, but it won't be easy against an Inter side who are unbeaten and have yet to concede a goal in the Champions League this season.

The two sides last met in the 2019/20 season, when Inter emerged victorious in the Europa League quarter-finals thanks to a 2-1 win. That single victory was enough for the Serie A side to progress, as only one leg was played due to COVID-19.

In terms of absentees, Leverkusen will be without Amine Adli (broken leg), Victor Boniface (thigh) and Jonas Hofmann, while Patrik Schick (calf) is a doubt.

The Czech international was back in training on Monday, but it's doubtful if he'll be thrown straight back into the starting eleven, with Nathan Tella ready to step in again if needed.

Inter have to manage without Francesco Acerbi (hamstring) and Raffaele Di Gennaro (broken finger), while former Bayern Munich man Benjamin Pavard (hamstring) is a doubt.
