HSV reportedly used a unique approach to re-sign Arsenal's Fabio Vieira

The 26-year-old midfielder was shown clips of his best moments from when he was on loan at the Hanseatic club for the 2025-26 campaign.

After a lengthy transfer saga, Hamburger SV reportedly used a unique method to convince Fábio Vieira to return on a permanent basis. 

According to Sport BILD, sporting director Claus Costa showed the 26-year-old a short film during a personal meeting.

The footage featured Vieira's celebrations, best moments, and emotional scenes from the Volksparkstadion last season.

HSV's bosses felt this persuasion tactic was completely necessary because the Portuguese playmaker had several offers from other clubs.

It's believed the video compiling all his greatest moments made an impression on Vieira, and he ultimately chose to rejoin HSV. 

Thereafter, the transfer went through for €9million because Arsenal made concessions to the Bundesliga club during negotiations.

Despite suffering a heavy 5-0 defeat at home to Mainz, Vieira made his first appearance last Sunday and received a rapturous applause.
