Wolfsburg boss confirms Kohfeldt will stay in charge after Leipzig defeat

Speaking after Wolfsburg's 2-0 defeat against RB Leipzig on Sunday, sporting director Marcel Schäfer confirmed that Florian Kohfeldt will stay on as head coach.
VfL Wolfsburg want to hold on head coach Florian Kohfeldt despite Sunday's 2-0 defeat at the hands of RB Leipzig, which saw them extend their winless streak to nine Bundesliga games.

Asked if Kohfeldt will still be in charge when Wolfsburg play their next Bundesliga game against Greuther Fürth in two weeks' time, sporting director Marcel Schäfer responded with a "yes".

"We know that when you haven't won for as long as we have, a lot of things are questioned," said Schäfer.

"But we want to go through this phase together and we want to work intensively. That's what we're going to do."

Kohfeldt succeeded Mark van Bommel as Wolfsburg coach back in October.
