Bayern Munich and Leroy Sané's management are set to hold fresh talks over a contract extension this week, according to Sky Germany.

The club kept the winger waiting for some time, but just under two weeks ago, reports emerged that Bayern had made an official offer to extend Sané’s expiring deal through at least 2028.

Since then, there’s been little movement, but Sky Germany now reports that Bayern - and particularly board member for sport Max Eberl - remain eager to tie down the 29-year-old.

The new deal is expected to include a significant salary reduction, dropping from €20 million to around €13-15 million per year.

Bild also reports that Sané is likely to extend his stay in Munich, but adds that nothing has been signed yet. The tabloid notes that a dip in form towards the end of the season could still impact the situation.
