In a not entirely unexpected move, Europa League Champions Eintracht Frankfurt have pulled the purchase option on Norwegian attacker Jens Petter Hauge. The 22-year-old was on loan from AC Milan. A permanent deal to tie him down to Germany's financial capital keeps him under contract with the SGE through 2026.

Reports on the amount tendered to the Series A club vary, with Germany's main sporting tabloid reporting that Hauge cost die Adler some €7 million while the Italian press speaks of a number closer to €12 million. In any event, the investment seems to definitely have been a priority for Eintracht.

Though Hauge scored only thrice in his 38 competitive appearances with his German club this year, the player was the go-to plug-in whenever his fellow Scandinavian Jesper Lindstrøm was unavailable. Lindstrøm potentially being on the move this summer obviously meant that the SGE needed a second option secured.
