Dahoud: 'I don't see myself as a benchwarmer'

Mahmoud Dahoud is content with his role at Borussia Dortmund despite finding himself starting on the bench for the last three games.
After being a regular starter at the beginning of the season, Mahmoud Dahoud has started the last three Borussia Dortmund games on the bench.

But despite that, the central midfielder is pleased with his current situation - and the development he has made this season.

"I knew I needed to be patient with my move to Dortmund, so I'm happy with my development. I don't see myself as a benchwarmer. Everyone needs to sit out now and then," he said in an interview with Sportbuzzer.

Dahoud also praised Dortmund captain Marco Reus who has been in exquisite form this season.

"For me, Marco is one of the best players in the world - especially in his current form," Dahoud said.

Dahoud, who joined Dortmund from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2017, has made 11 appearances for the BVB this season.
