Reports: Augsburg outpace Stuttgart in race for Berisha
Both German tabloid "Sport Bild" and Sky Germany are currently reporting that FC Augsburg are looking to beat Stuttgart to the punch in the race to acquire German striker Mërgim Berisha.
Reports linking current Fenerbahçe striker Mërgim Berisha with VfB Stuttgart emerged earlier in the day. According to two credible German footballing journalists, however, the 24-year-old Berchtesgaden-nataive may be more likely to land in the Fuggerstadt. Tobi Altschäffl of Sport Bild and Florian Plettenberg of Sky's German outfit both report this.
Alschäffl reports that FC Augsburg have offered Berisha's Istanbul-based club a loan fee of €300,000 that could rise to €500,000 if certain incentives are met. Plettenberg notes that the attacker is already in Augsburg finalizing the details and that a medical could be lined up for today.
✅ Der FC Augsburg bekommt seine Wunschlösung im Sturm: Megim Berisha kommt von Fenerbace für ein Jahr als Leihe. Gebühr: 300 000 Euro, kann auf 500 000 ansteigen. Kauf-Option: 4 Mio. Euro.
