It is unclear exactly when Florian Wirtz will leave Bayer Leverkusen, but he seems destined to move on at some point - so it makes sense for Die Werkself to prepare for life without the 21-year-old.

According to Kicker, the German champions have identified Stuttgart's Enzo Millot as a possible successor to Wirtz.

The 22-year-old, like Wirtz, thrives in a central attacking midfield role and is reportedly available for a mere €20 million this summer thanks to a release clause.

Even if Wirtz's departure from Leverkusen is delayed until 2026, Millot could still be brought in this summer, giving him a year to acclimatize without the same pressure on his shoulders.

Although some reports have suggested that Wirtz is likely to leave at the end of the season, Kicker claims that Leverkusen have a good chance of keeping him for another season.

According to the German football magazine, the club and the player are in "good talks" about extending his contract beyond 2027.
