Sport1 Report: Dortmund still stand chance of offloading Schulz

German broadcaster Sport1 reports that Borussia Dortmund, against all the odds, may have found a taker for Nico Schulz during the current transfer window.

Borussia Dortmund may be able to get what is widely regarded to be one of their worst transfer flops in history off their payroll in the current window. Patrick Berger of Germany's Sport1 reports that Nico Schulz might move to Atalanta Bergamo within the next 24 hours. The one-time €25 million transfer maintains an estimated market worth of some €2 million today.

The 29-year-old left-back hasn't appeared at all for the BVB this season and has been training with the U23s. Schulz has intermittently been linked with various Series A clubs. The defender has an Italian father and speaks some of the language. A club south of the Alps may presumably be willing to give the 12-times-capped German international another chance.
