Amiri and Burkardt hold off on Mainz commitment

According to Kicker, Nadiem Amiri and Jonathan Burkardt are hesitant to commit to staying at Mainz, preferring to wait until after the season to make a decision about their futures.

Mainz are set to conclude one of the most successful campaigns in their history, currently sitting sixth in the Bundesliga with one game remaining.

Amid their impressive run, speculation has grown around the futures of two key players: Nadiem Amiri and Jonathan Burkardt.

According to Kicker, neither player is ready to commit to staying at the club just yet, with both keen to wait until the end of the season before making a decision.

Mainz’s potential qualification for European competition could play a significant role in their decision.

Bo Henriksen’s side currently occupy sixth place, which would secure a spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Amiri is under contract until 2028, while Burkardt’s deal runs through 2027.
