There was plenty for VfB Stuttgart to celebrate on Sunday as they cruised to a commanding 4-0 win over Augsburg.

Yet the triumph came with a downside, as midfield talisman Angelo Stiller picked up an injury - a concern for Stuttgart ahead of the DFB-Pokal final against Arminia Bielefeld on May 24.

“We have to assume it’s a ligament injury,” Stuttgart head coach Sebastian Hoeneß said at the post-match press conference.

An initial examination revealed that the ligament structure had been affected.

“We’ll know more tomorrow about how serious it is,” Hoeneß added.

“What’s clear is that if there’s any chance (of Stiller playing in the cup final), we - and Angelo - will take it. We’ll do everything we can, but for now, there’s nothing more to say.”
