Bayern Munich were close to finalizing an extension with Leroy Sané, whose contract expires at the end of the season, when the winger suddenly changed his mind and switched agents.

Now represented by the notorious super-agent Pini Zahavi, the German international has made a counter-offer to Bayern Munich, requesting a higher base salary, according to Sky Germany.

Sané is now demanding a fixed annual salary of €12 million plus performance-related bonuses of 3 million, potentially totaling €15 million per year.

Previously, the parties were nearing an agreement on a contract worth €10 million per year in base salary, with an additional €5 million in potential bonuses.

Bayern’s management are said to be unimpressed by the demands from Sané’s new agency and have shown no willingness to revise their offer, leaving the winger’s future in serious doubt.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Sané has been linked with clubs such as Arsenal and Chelsea
