Borussia Dortmund's Marius Wolf and Brentford FC's Kevin Schade are among six rookies named in the Germany squad for the upcoming friendlies against Peru and the Netherlands.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the duo explained what it means to be in the national team for the first time.

"I never thought I would play for the national team," said Marius Wolf, who has become a regular at right-back for Dortmund this season.

"But everyone has a different career path. I had a lot of loans," he added.

Schade, who left Freiburg to join Brentford last summer, said:

"Obviously I had read the rumors, but I was surprised to be called up. The national team is a childhood dream, the highest level there is."
