Gladbach defender Marvin Friedrich has played just two minutes of football since the turn of the year.

In an interview with Sport Bild, Friedrich explains just how unhappy he is with how his situation at Borussia-Park has developed since his move from Union Berlin in January 2022.

"Something has to change for me. It can't go on like this. I would not have left Union for any other club, but simply had the best feeling with Gladbach. Now it's also about my perspective and my future," said Friedrich, whose contract expires in 2026.

"I give everything, I offer myself. And yet I don't play a role at all. I'm completely dissatisfied with the current situation and feel zero, zero confidence," the central defender complained.

He went to coach Daniel Farke and sporting director Roland Virkus "a few weeks ago" and described his "dissatisfaction".

"Both have shown understanding, but nothing has changed for me," Friedrich said.
