Bayern shocked at their own performance: "It doesn't get much worse than today."
Thomas Müller, Matthijs de Ligt, and FCB trainer Thomas Tuchel have registered their comments after a poor showing in front of the hometown fans ended in a 1-1 draw with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon.

"We can send some thanks VfB's way," Thomas Müller remarked in his post-match interview with Sky Germany, "We were shocked by our own performance. Time for a thorough analysis. The head-coach [Thomas Tuchel] is probably pretty shaken as well."
Tuchel confirmed Müller's sentiments.
"This one is hard to comprehend," Tuchel noted in his own post-match interview, "Very little energy, very little pace, not much going on in transition and almost no conviction. We looked extremely insecure and made many simple mistakes."
"The training week was very good," Tuchel continued, "We just couldn't bring it on the pitch. I did not see this coming. I was sure we'd show a different face. This obviously isn't the direction we want to go in."
For his part, Tuchel declined to comment on the Stuttgart-Dortmund result. For the newly appointed FCB trainer, it all came down to "the fact that we have a lot to work on ourselves." Defender Matthijs de Ligt used the words "lack of energy and intensity" when describing where precisely the record champions must start.
"We were lucky that it remained 1-1," de Ligt told his interviewer, "It doesn't get much worse than today."
