Borussia Dortmund would be without one of last season’s top players for the unforeseeable future. Sky reports that the Austrian international Marcel Sabitzer is confirmed to miss several weeks due to a knee injury.

Initially, Sabitzer will miss his national team’s upcoming Nations League games against Serbia. Sky’s Patrick Berger also confirmed that he’ll not be available for the game against Bayern, and the Champions League tie with FC Barcelona.

The 30-year-old will need to complete rehabilitation training for about a month after suffering an injury in yesterday’s defeat in Leipzig. After a difficult start to the season under Nuri Şahin, Sabitzer has developed a much better relationship with Niko Kovac. Going by his contribution in last season’s run to the final, BVB will definitely miss his services in the Champions League.
