Germany midfielder Ilkay Gündogan is set to join FC Barcelona, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.

As per the Italian transfer market guru, Gündogan has signed a contract with the Spanish La Liga side until 2025, with an option for a further year.

The 32-year-old central midfielder will join Barcelona on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Manchester City.

Gündogan joined Manchester City in 2016 and went on to make 304 appearances for the club, scoring 60 goals and laying on 40 assists.

He recently confirmed that he had rejected advances from Borussia Dortmund over a possible return to Signal Iduna Park.
